FINALLY it’s HAPPENING

When was the last time you sat on a swing? And where?
If it’s been a while, you’ll be able to swing in the exhibition space of the KinderKunstLabor for Contemporary Art from September onwards: FINALLY it’s HAPPENING – finally, it’s happening. Artist Carola Dertnig is developing a site-specific body of work for the KinderKunstLabor at the intersection of performance and installation. A new production based on Carola Dertnig’s Fly by Production (MoMA PS1, 2000), in which movement becomes painting.

Make it happen!
Images grow on the walls through you and others: created through movement and color applied to the soles of your feet, fingertips, or textiles. Carola Dertnig has conceived her exhibition to become “complete” when you take part. Swinging, painting, playing mini golf, and dancing are all possible in the 400 m² exhibition space, creating shared experiences.

Material is an integral part of the artistic process. That’s why, for the exhibition FINALLY it’s HAPPENING, we are particularly delighted to have Gerstaecker as our exclusive materials partner.

Experience Art – Your Way

• Guided tours offer new perspectives on the body, space, and being together. Other positions in performance art enter into dialogue with Carola Dertnig’s exhibition.
• Open studios offer opportunities for artistic experimentation in experimental spatial settings – with performance, sound pieces, and collaborative drawings.
• Artistic workshops explore new forms of movement, sound walks, new modes of drawing, interventions in public space, printmaking formats, and experimental approaches to writing and painting.
