House Rules
These house rules apply to all areas of the KinderKunstLabor for Contemporary Art of the NÖ Kulturlandeshauptstadt St. Pölten GmbH, Schulring 24, 3100 St. Pölten. This also includes the Altoonapark and the KinderKunstLabor parking area. All persons present in these spaces and areas are subject to these house rules.
The implementation and enforcement of these house rules are the responsibility of the KinderKunstLabor staff, in particular the day management, the hosts, and the ticketing team.
Welcome!
KinderKunstLabor is a place committed to democratic values and advocates for plurality of voices, participation, diversity, and mutual respect as the foundation of an open, intergenerational society. In this spirit, KinderKunstLabor takes a clear stance against racism, antisemitism, sexism, ableism, violence, and discrimination based on age, religious belief, sexual orientation, as well as other and intersectional forms of discrimination.
KinderKunstLabor aims to create an atmosphere of respect, openness, and empathy and to ensure that everyone – both visitors and the KinderKunstLabor team – feels comfortable and safe.
Therefore, the following rules and regulations apply to all persons entering the building:
Respectful Interaction at KinderKunstLabor
We want all visitors – children, young people, and adults – as well as our team at KinderKunstLabor to feel welcome and safe. Therefore, we ask you to be considerate of others and to behave in a way that does not disturb, hinder, or harass anyone.
Respect is important for everyone – regardless of age. Statements or gestures that harm others or violate fundamental democratic values are not permitted in the building. This includes, for example, discriminatory remarks about origin, appearance, gender, age, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs.
If you experience discrimination during your visit, the KinderKunstLabor team is there to support you. We take your experience seriously and kindly ask you to share it with us:

Admission
The KinderKunstLabor may only be entered with a valid admission ticket and via the designated entrances. The prices of the KinderKunstLabor apply according to the currently valid price lists, which are available at the ticket desk and in the online ticket shop. These prices include the legally required VAT.
Admission tickets (except annual passes) entitle the holder to one-time entry to the building within the currently valid opening hours. Discounted tickets may only be used by persons who belong to the respective eligible group. A valid ID must be presented at ticket control when using a discounted ticket. Visitors may only stay in publicly accessible areas.
Animals
Bringing animals of any kind is prohibited. Exceptions apply to assistance and therapy dogs on a leash. A corresponding ID must be presented to staff at the ticket desk before entering the museum.
Behavior Toward the Artworks
Touching exhibition objects and display cases is prohibited unless explicitly permitted. Any damage to exhibition objects or exhibition facilities is the responsibility of the person who caused it or their parents, accompanying persons, or legal guardians.
Cloakroom and Strollers
Bags and backpacks larger than A4 size (approx. 20 × 30 cm) may not be taken into the exhibition area on the 1st floor. These items can be stored in the lockers in the basement. Cloakroom tokens can be borrowed at the ticket desk. Locker keys may not be taken outside the building. KinderKunstLabor accepts no liability for items left in the cloakroom in the basement.
Strollers can be parked in the foyer. With the exception of the Archipelago area, strollers may be taken everywhere. In the basement there are changing facilities and a dedicated nursing room.
Bringing weapons, weapon-like items, sharp or dangerous objects (including umbrellas, walking sticks, etc.) is prohibited.
Damage Cases
Any damage resulting from failure to comply with the house rules or accident prevention regulations is subject to full personal liability of the visitor or their accompanying persons.
Eating, Drinking and Smoking
Eating and drinking are permitted in the cloakroom area (basement), in the foyer (ground floor), and during the warm season or when open on the terrace (2nd floor). Waste must be disposed of in the designated containers. Alcohol is strictly prohibited, except in the gastronomy area. Different regulations may apply during exhibition openings and events.
Smoking and the use of open flames are strictly prohibited throughout the KinderKunstLabor. This also includes the use of e-cigarettes.
Emergency Exits & Fire Safety
Escape routes, exits, and access roads must remain unobstructed. Escape gates are equipped with panic locks – in the direction of escape, the gate can be opened even when locked. In the event of a power outage, particular attention must be paid to the escape route situation.
If the fire alarm sounds, the KinderKunstLabor must be left immediately using the shortest possible route. The green directional signs (escape route lights) leading to the exits must be followed. The use of the elevator is prohibited in the event of an alarm.
Found Property
Please hand in any found items to our ticketing team in the foyer. They will be stored there and, after six months, transferred to the Lost and Found Office of the City of St. Pölten.
