My Space, Your Space, Our Space. Who Owns the City?

My room belongs to me. But what about the street? The park? The playground? Why is there sometimes a car parked right where I’d much rather be playing? And who actually decides who gets to use which space?

We tell stories about ordinary and extraordinary spaces; we leave the living room, head out into the city, and talk about the adventure of public space. We ask how we want to share public space—and why children absolutely should have a say in the matter. Because public space is there for everyone: for young and old, fast and slow, loud and quiet—and for anyone who simply needs a little more space.
