Die Welt wie sie mir gefällt
The World the Way I Like ItDescription
How do you most like to move through space? How do you approach one another? Or—how do you avoid each other? And—how do you orient yourselves in space?
Drawing inspiration from performance art, participants will explore new movement sequences and combine them into spontaneous choreographies. Inspiration comes from the American dancer Anna Halprin, who viewed dance as a collaborative process, and from the performance artist Simone Forti, who transforms simple movements—such as pulling or carrying together—into artistic acts. Being together, showing consideration for one another, and still experiencing individual freedom of movement within a group are the focal points of this format.
There’s also painting involved, because building on the new dance movements, participants transfer the spatial movement sequences onto paper using brushes and watercolors. What does a turn, a jump, or a roll look like? The groups then try to mimic each other’s brushstrokes through dance. When new movement patterns emerge in the process, it can get quite funny.
